The Institute of Hydrometeorology and Monitoring of Armenia has announced that April 2024 was the hottest and driest April on record since 1935. The average monthly temperature in Armenia during April was 9.4°C, which exceeded the norm for April (4.9°C) by 4.5°C. In the second half of the month, temperature fluctuations were particularly high, with daily average temperatures in certain regions being 6-8°C higher than the norm. New temperature records were set on April 17-20 and 28-30, with temperatures reaching as high as 30-32°C in Yerevan and the Ararat field.

Not only was April the hottest on record, but it was also accompanied by severe droughts.
