“Archaeological Discovery in Great Britain: Iron Age Woman Found with Gruesome Ritualistic Injuries”

The Telegraph has reported that experts have discovered human remains of a mass murder dating back to the Iron Age in Great Britain. Scientists from Bournemouth University found the remains of a woman in her twenties who was brutally killed in a settlement in Wintonburn Kingsdown around 2,000 years ago.

The analysis of the remains reveals that the woman was stabbed in the neck and her eyes were gouged out. The eye sockets were filled with the bones of various animals, such as fish, shrews, badgers, and cows. This suggests that her body was used for a ritual burial, possibly indicating that she was a victim of human sacrifice.

Experts speculate that the murder may have been part of a larger ritual where witnesses were invited to witness the violent event. Despite references to mass murder in literary accounts of Iron Age Britain, there is little historical evidence to confirm its occurrence.

Furthermore, experts propose that the woman may have functioned as a vessel for ritual pollution, which was then transferred to the “wider community.” This practice could have been a form of human sacrifice, where the violent act directly impacted the physical and mental well-being of the earth.
