“No Guilty Parties Found in 15 Criminal Proceedings Related to Armenia’s Territorial Integrity, According to RA Prosecution”

In order to address 15 criminal cases pertaining to the overall territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia for 2021-2022, around 15 actions have been taken. However, no individuals have been prosecuted or found guilty so far, according to a report from “Pastinfo” based on the response from the RA Prosecutor General’s Office to the RA Administrative Court.

“Pastinfo” has also lodged a formal complaint with the RA Prosecutor General’s Office, seeking clarification on the status of a criminal action initiated under the Law on the Procedure for Freeing the Territories of Syunik Province of the Republic of Armenia from Occupation-Border Delimitation. The complaint requests information about the decision made, the grounds for the decision, and the establishment of guilt in any individual’s case, if applicable.

According to the response received from the Prosecutor General’s Office, no decisions have been made to reject the initiation of criminal proceedings related to the overall territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia. The following criminal actions have been initiated in the preliminary stage:

– Under Article 329 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, regarding genocide committed by a group of individuals, which poses a serious danger to the lives of many individuals and is based on national, racial, religious, or social hatred, the 1st, 6th, 7th, and 13th points of the 104th article of the Law dated April 18th, 2003, have been initiated.

– Under the provisions of the Criminal Code, various articles related to aggravated robbery, war crimes during armed conflicts, and other offenses have been initiated.

– The preliminary stage of criminal proceedings has been initiated based on different combinations of articles from the Criminal Code, relating to genocide, robbery, and other offenses.

It’s important to note that these criminal actions are currently in the preliminary stage of investigation.
