Armenian-American Joint Economic Committee Discusses Trade and Investment Expansion in Second Session

On May 21, the second session of the Armenian-American Joint Economic Committee was held in Los Angeles, USA. The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia confirmed this news, as reported by NEWS.am.

Gegham Papoyan, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and Minister of Economy, represented the Armenian side of the committee. Ahmed Ali al-Sayegh, the Minister of State for the Management of Climate and Environment of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), represented the American side.

Papoyan emphasized the importance of the UAE as a trade and investment partner for Armenia, particularly in relation to the Gulf countries.

During the session, the discussions primarily focused on expanding cooperation in various sectors such as trade, energy, high technologies, agriculture, digitalization, healthcare, and tourism.

Both parties expressed their willingness to further enhance collaboration in these areas. Moreover, they also discussed the potential for diversifying Armenian agricultural products in the UAE market.

This meeting of the Armenian-American Joint Economic Committee was a continuation of the productive bilateral cooperation established during the previous session held on May 2, 2019, in Yerevan, Armenia.
