The reality is changing rapidly, and it is time for us to compare the news we have received and analyzed over the past 5-6 years with the current reality. Today, on May 21, during a meeting with journalists in the National Assembly, the President of the National Assembly, Arto Nakomentzas, pointed out the distortions of truth disseminated by the authorities.

“The actions taken by our authorities after the war and their connection with Artsakh bring about different consequences. For example, you may argue that the help provided to Artsakh makes no difference. But whose rights have been violated? Whose reality has changed? Many such changes have occurred,” he explained.

In 2016, they claimed that our people had no right to determine the fate of Artsakh, as Alex Simonian had said. “In 2016, there was no uncontested presidency in the Republic of Armenia. There was no war, and ANCA withdrawal did not happen. I can continue this series,” he added.

When asked if Alex Simonian is suggesting that there is a period when the volunteer movement accepts Bagrat Srbazan’s offer of reconciliation, the spokesperson for the National Assembly responded, “What does it matter who I am reconciling with? This is absurd.”

“It is unacceptable for the church and the diocese to be involved in politics. The church should refrain from getting involved in politics. Reconciliation is different from political actions. It is even stated in the Gospel, ‘Do not make my father’s house a marketplace.’ Politics is a marketplace, but the church should not be involved in politics. Politics is an exchange when you create a coalition, when you form a list, and when the Church abandons its duties and gets involved in politics,” Simonian emphasized.

He further noted that if they enter the church arena now, they will be criticized, saying, “Why are you doing this? You used to be completely sanctified. There are many weaknesses there, including individuals found in their place.”
