Artsakh Representative Denies Reports of Retreat: “Authorities Deliberately Keeping Silent”, Says David Melkumyan

The authorities in Artsakh have not announced their retreat from Artsakh, according to representative David Melkumyan in an interview with NEWS.am. He clarified that there have been no deliberate announcements made by the authorities. Melkumyan also emphasized that Artsakh has not surrendered, and he promised to provide further details regarding the situation. Meanwhile, after a meeting with the Azerbaijani foreign minister, Ramine Mamajekian refrained from discussing the negotiations and proposed focusing on the current topic. When asked about the possibility of Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation, Melkumyan expressed that he did not put his hope on a utopian dream and believed that the power lies in the hands of the people. He mentioned that the meeting exceeded his expectations in terms of being constructive and that both sides are eagerly awaiting progress and developments. As for Artsakh President Samvel Sahakyan’s absence from the movement, Melkumyan suggested directing the question to Sahakyan himself and clarified that they are participating as concerned citizens rather than political figures.
