“Armenian National Community Honors Victims of Pontic Genocide in Emotional Ceremony”

The Armenian national community of Pontus gathered on May 19 to commemorate the victims of the Pontic Genocide. The ceremony, held at the Holy Sargis Church in Yerevan, was dedicated to honoring the Pontian Greeks who were massacred by the Osmanian Empire between 1915 and 1922. Following the religious service, a brief gathering was held near the church, which was attended by Edward Polatov, the President of the Armenian National Union. The event was also attended by representatives of the Armenian community and public figures. It is worth noting that on May 19, which has been recognized by the Armenian Parliament as the Day of Remembrance for the Pontic Genocide, a commemoration ceremony was also held in the Ottoman Empire in 1994.
