President Lukashenko Emphasizes the Need for Internal Problem Resolution Amidst Mention of KGB Intervention Attempts

The president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, highlighted the importance of addressing internal issues through dialogue and mediation in order to carry out effective work. Speaking at a press conference on the construction of the state security committee (KGB) building, Lukashenko mentioned attempts at intervention from the body of evidence and from the bodies of the KGB in relation to “subversive” attempts. He expressed concern about corruption and the investigations within the KGB and urged for appropriate means and information to be provided to expand their operational activities in Belarus. Lukashenko emphasized that secretive actions should not take place, as they can have serious consequences for society. The head of the state security also assured that while intervention and mediation are necessary, it should not overshadow addressing internal problems.
