According to NBC News, the spokesperson for the State Department stated, “There is no international conspiracy.” He also noted that the situation in Baghdad is calming down, as well as the tensions with Iran, which they had tried to provoke after the death of the Iranian president. The official emphasized that the US is not behind the instability in Iran, citing the attempted assassination of the former Iranian prime minister as an example. When asked about the impact of these deaths on US-Iran relations, he declared, “We do not anticipate any significant military changes here.”
