National Food Safety Inspectorate Suspends Operations of Dangerous Culinary Factory in Gyumri

The Director of the National Food Safety Inspectorate of the Republic of Armenia, Gurgin Avagyan, has announced the suspension of the production activities of a culinary factory’s food production unit in Shirak province, Gyumri city. This decision comes as a response to the immediate danger posed to the safety of food products. The inspection conducted by relevant authorities uncovered several violations, including inadequate cleaning, disinfection, and separation of production areas, facilities, and equipment from materials that can contaminate food. Additionally, work surfaces in the meat processing area were found to be made from materials that are not easily cleaned, and the internal storage cabinets lack proper protection systems. Furthermore, the production unit does not have a proper ventilation system in place. Measures to address these violations have been given a specific deadline.
