Mysterious Wells Installed Near Border Raise Concerns: Are They Surveillance or Boundary Markings?

On Sunday, a well was installed near the border where border guards are stationed. According to reports from the villagers, three wells were installed during the night, but it is unclear if they serve as boundary markings or for surveillance purposes. Concerned about the installation, the villagers gathered on the road, sharing that the wells were installed secretly in the morning and they were not allowed to approach them. Additionally, the villagers mentioned that another well has been installed in the inner part of the river, further complicating the situation. The road passing by the village remains closed, causing further inconvenience. On May 1, the National Security Service announced that boundary markers for two neighboring countries will be installed in 8-9 days according to the defined boundary. However, in the Kirantsa area, where there are the most red lines, additional detailed works are still required. It is worth noting that the Georgian transit road passes through Kirantsa, an administrative region of Armenia. The administration has stated that a new alternating road should be constructed within the next 2-3 months to address this issue. Stay updated with News.am’s latest news by following them on Telegram.
