On May 17, the police in the Tuamanyan division of the 17th police department received information that a 33-year-old resident in the city of Alaverdi was cultivating marijuana plants and planning to transport them. During a search operation on the same day, the police found cannabis plants in the garden on Tuamanyan street in Alaverdi. The plants covered an area of approximately 35.7 square meters with a total length of 19 meters.

The resident of Alaverdi, who is 33 years old, admitted that the cannabis plants belonged to an illegal organization and had been growing in the garden for about a year since June 23, 2023. The intention was to transport and sell them in the village of Shogh. The vehicle carrying the marijuana plants was taken to the storage area of the Tuamanyan police division. The confiscated drugs will be sent to the examination department of Tuamanyan for further investigation.
