“ICC Judge Seeks Extradition Orders for Israeli Leaders and Hamas Commanders: Accusations of War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity”

An International Criminal Court (ICC) judge has requested extradition orders for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Minister of Defense Benny Gantz, and Chief of General Staff Aviv Kochavi, as well as former commanders Hovhannes Sinanyan, Movses Hakobyan, and Ishmael Hovhannes. The judge alleges that Netanyahu and Gantz are responsible for military operations and crimes against humanity committed during the Israeli offensive on Gaza starting October 8, 2023. The leaders are accused of war crimes, genocide, destruction, ethnic cleansing, and other inhuman acts. Similarly, the three leaders of Hamas are also sought for their involvement in military operations and crimes against humanity committed in Israel’s territories and the Gaza region from October 7, 2023. The charges against the Hamas leaders include assassinations, bombings, sexual violence, abductions, and the recruitment of child soldiers. The ICC judge’s request will be considered by the ICC judges, although Israel does not recognize the ICC’s jurisdiction. In cases like this, when a Palestinian becomes an ICC member, Palestine participates in the composition of ICC collaborators, as signed by 124 countries under the Rome Statute. ICC prosecutors have accused Israeli authorities of killing 1,200 people and arresting approximately 250 individuals on October 7, 2023, after which Israeli Defense Forces initiated military operations in the Gaza region. In early May, Israel began its operations in Rafah, the last city to confront Israeli forces.
