“Protest Turns Violent: Investigative Committee Charges “Kamk” Movement Founder and 4 Others”

The RA investigative committee has reported that a clash occurred during a protest organized by participants near the building of the RA Government on May 16, 2024. The clash involved violence by the participants directed towards the “Kamk” movement, which was initiated by V.Ch. and four others. The preliminary investigation of the criminal case has revealed that V.Ch. made announcements on May 16, 2024, at 12:25, through various media platforms, inciting violence by highlighting his negative and positive actions online. Based on the evidence presented in the document, V.Ch. has been charged with violating Article 297, Part 2, Point 3 of the criminal code of the Republic of Armenia. He has been placed under house arrest for two months from the moment of detention, as the investigation continues. It is important to note that the person charged with the crime is considered innocent until proven guilty by the court, in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
