“A Remarkable Discovery: Archaeological Dig Uncovers Historic Door Adorned with over 50 Engraved Pictures, Including a Portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte”

An announcement has been made on the door of an English pub stating that more than 50 pictures, including a portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte, have been discovered. This door was found at the end of an archaeological dig at Dove Cottage, located in England’s Lake District, according to English Heritage.

It is believed that the engraved pictures were created by soldiers who lived in the cottage between the years 1789 and 1855.

The door was restored in the 1790s due to damage caused during the French restoration of Napoleon Bonaparte, and it became a “contemporary military monument.”

Throughout the years, thousands of soldiers were stationed in the cottage, with 6-12 people tasked with guarding St. John’s Ashtray, where the door was located.

Experts believe that the soldiers, in an attempt to pass the time, made sketches on the door. Using their knives or spoons, they created unconventional works of art.
