“40 Rescue Teams Mobilized by Iranian Red Crescent Society to Assist Earthquake-Devastated Region”

The head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), Pir-Hossein Koulivand, has announced that 40 rescue and rapid response teams have been sent to the site of the earthquake in Iran, according to Tasnim. He stated that teams from the IRCS have been dispatched from Eastern Azerbaijan and neighboring provinces. Koulivand noted that, in addition to conventional equipment, non-motorized devices have also been used for search and rescue operations, but the difficult terrain has made the task challenging. According to him, the site of the earthquake is in a difficult mountainous area. It is reported that the exact location of the earthquake is near the village of Ozi, which is in the western part of the North West of Iran.
