“Uncovering the Motives: Exploring the Intensifying Conflict of “Tavush, the Pride of the Fatherland””

Past newspaper reports have highlighted the increasing dynamics of the “Tavush, the pride of the Fatherland” movement, both in virtual and actual discussions. These discussions mainly focus on strategic-military issues, sometimes questioning the motives and offers of the parties involved in the conflict and the continuation of hostilities. Notably, when Bagrat Amparianskopos Galstanyan, the head of the movement, or other representatives discuss the conflict, they often emphasize the “for what” aspect. For example, military experts, known as the opinion of military experts, provide scientific-consensual assessments on demarcation and strategic-military issues, which are seen as crucial for Armenia’s territorial integrity and national security.

The authorities’ decisions also play a significant role in determining the next steps for Armenia and the conflict with Azerbaijan. These decisions take into account the 230-hectare territory-wide conflict over the Berkhavar basin and adjacent areas, as well as the statement from the arbitration settlement of Ajazmania. The financing under the NKR Judicial Authority results in a loss of approximately 1,100 hectares of territory for Armenia. The conflict intensifies to prevent “nighttime capitulations” and contradictory actions, aiming to protect the country from conflicts and restore its territorial integrity.

The Armenian demarcation and subsequent demarcation processes are based on 182 documents signed between 1983 and 1988 by the working group of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR. The ongoing settlement process follows the decisions of three well-established bodies within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR.
