Armenian Prime Minister Discusses Human Rights, Artsakh Situation, and Regional Communications with Council of Europe Commissioner

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, recently had a meeting with Dunja Mijatović, the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe, as reported by the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, the two discussed various topics including the protection of human rights, improvements in legislation, and cooperation with international mechanisms. They also touched upon recent developments in the South Caucasus, specifically the situation in Artsakh, the return of Armenian prisoners of war, and the humanitarian crisis. The Prime Minister informed the Commissioner about the atrocities committed by Azerbaijan, including the displacement of over 100,000 Armenians. The issue of unblocking regional communications and the immediate release of Armenian captives held in Azerbaijan were also addressed.
