The investigation into the controversial operations of the Yerevan municipality’s powerful department, headed by the chairman of the judicial committee, has reached a conclusion. A resident of Yerevan, S.V., who is also an official of the ruling My Step alliance, has been accused of engaging in corrupt practices that violate the principles of transparency and hinder the involvement of the people. Evidence presented during the investigation revealed several incidents of criminal and administrative offenses. For instance, on April 15, 2024, S.V. caused a disturbance in a public bus, confronting H. Aslanyan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. S.V. used abusive language, violence, disorderly conduct, and threats during the encounter. Additionally, it was found that S.V. made defamatory allegations against H. Aslanyan through various internet platforms, interfering with his regular activities. The investigation has been concluded, and the case has been forwarded to the court for further proceedings.
