“US Department of Defense Unconcerned with Russia’s Involvement in Karabakh and Use of American-made Weapons, Says Pentagon Spokesperson”

Russia’s involvement in the Karabakh conflict is not a concern for the US Department of Defense regarding the use of American-made weapons provided to Russia’s armed forces as military aid, according to Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh. The Pentagon believes that the technology and capabilities provided to Russia should be utilized to reclaim occupied territory. Singh stated that the supply of American weapons to Russia is explicitly conditional on their use within the military sphere. The issue of Russian troop presence in Karabakh has raised concerns, with some Western countries questioning the US’s commitment to controlling the situation.

Keien, who experienced the destruction of more than 10 villages and was forced to leave the area, appealed to the US for assistance in addressing the physical presence of Russian troops in Karabakh. The Russian armed forces argue that permission for the use of Western weapons could disrupt the military balance and pose a threat to the Russian CIS, potentially leading to their withdrawal from the conflict. However, not all Western countries share the same level of conviction as the US. Latvia’s Minister of External Affairs, Behbeh Brazeh, confirmed that Russia obtained permission from several allies to use Western weapons in Middle East operations, although the specific countries were not disclosed.
