“Tavush Archbishop declares independence amidst demarcation dispute; highlights degradation of society and violence”

The main problem today is the degradation and violence inflicted on people by other people. During a press meeting on May 17, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader of the Tavush region, announced that Archbishop Arman Grigoryan, Governor of Tavush, declared independence. They stated that the demarcation in Tavush does not encroach on any part of Armenian territory, and emphasized that the gas pipeline remains within the borders of the Republic of Armenia. Archbishop Galstanyan also expressed concern about a photograph circulating in some areas, which he believes is being used in a dangerous manner disguised as advertising.

He mentioned that there is no international legal agreement during the demarcation process in Tavush, which leads to new problems. When shown the photograph by journalists, Archbishop Galstanyan explained that it is related to a New Year’s community campaign in various sectors of Armenian society. He emphasized that there are countless other photographs that could be shown to highlight different aspects of life in the region. Archbishop Bagrat urged those who criticize to also showcase their own experiences and challenges.

Overall, the discussion during the press meeting touched upon the issue of demarcation, the concern over the use of photographs, and the need for a comprehensive understanding of the complexities in Tavush. Archbishop Galstanyan highlighted the importance of dialogue with the villagers in order to find solutions and address their concerns.
