“Slovakia Unites: Leadership Condemns Murder of Journalist, Calls for Investigation into Political Power’s Influence”

The leadership of Slovakia has presented a protest to Prime Minister Robert Fico in response to the murder of a journalist. Matúš Šutaj Eštok, the head of internal affairs of Slovakia, has called on journalists to investigate how they are scrutinizing Fico’s political power. Eštok stated that the victim, who was murdered in a planned assassination attempt, had only criticized and clashed with someone from a political group, but had no connection to the political power itself. He confirmed that the victim was not a member of any extremist group. Eštok announced that the assassination of the victim was apparently a result of a radical movement associated with certain political powers connected to Fico. According to Eštok, the assassination took place after the presidential elections, in which the victim had campaigned. Furthermore, Prime Minister Robert Kalinak acknowledged allegations of clergy involvement in corruption within the country.

Earlier, the OSCE revealed that the person who had set fire to Slovakia was 71 years old and suffered from mental illness related to political power.
