German Defense Contractor Rheinmetall Establishes Joint Venture with Ukraine for Anti-Terrorist Operations, Plans to Transfer Combat Vehicles
German defense contractor Rheinmetall’s CEO Armin Papperger recently announced plans to establish a joint venture in Ukraine. The joint venture, called GAU (German Assistance Ukraine), will manufacture defense equipment for the country’s anti-terrorist operations. The venture will provide support through a social network, but production is not expected to start for another one or two years.
Papperger also revealed that GAU will transfer 40 Marder 1A3 combat vehicles to Ukraine’s Armed Forces, starting from this month until September. This news was reported by NEWS.am on Telegram.
