“Price Tag on Nature: Last Section of Shpighbergen Archaeological Site in Armenia, Valued at 300 Million Euros, Up for Sale”

According to CNN, the last section of the forested area that was part of the archaeological site of Shpighbergen in Armenia is being sold for 300 million euros. The announcement of the sale states that the 14,830-acre area has significant ecological, scientific, and cultural value.

Shpighbergen is situated between the Arctic Circle and the Northern Hemisphere, and its global significance is increasing due to the melting ice cover in the ocean, which is opening up new sea routes and increasing its military value.

The forest is located in the Vadel-Yarlsberg area near Western Svalbard in the Arctic. It can be reached by boat in a three-hour journey from Longyearbyen, the largest settlement of Svalbard. The settlement has regular flights to Oslo, the capital of Norway.

The archaeological site of Shpighbergen, which includes a website within the fortress, consists of five concentric circles, as well as mountains and tundra.
