“Major Changes in Armenia’s Construction Sector as Ministry of Defense Implements New Security Measures”

The Ministry of Defense has made an announcement regarding mandatory security and modification measures in the construction sector. According to the statement, the implementation of these measures is in accordance with the President of the Republic of Armenia’s decrees on national security. The Ministry of Defense and the Chief Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces have introduced new regulations and approvals for construction in Armenia, starting from October 2023.

In addition to this, several appointments have been made within the Ministry of Defense. Mikael Shirinyan has been appointed as Deputy Minister of Defense responsible for security and technical provision. Aram Poghosyan is now the Deputy Minister of Defense in charge of defense policy. Ghegam Pashikyan has taken on the role of Deputy Minister of Defense responsible for defense medical provision. Vahram Grigoryan has been appointed as Deputy Minister of Defense in charge of the main department of training of the armed forces. Smbat Grigoryan will be responsible for the organizational and mobilization department of the Armed Forces as the Deputy Minister of Defense. Hrach Stepanyan has been appointed as Deputy Minister of Defense responsible for the Municipal Defense Department, and Samvel Minasyan will oversee territorial defense as the Deputy Minister of Defense.
