There have been ongoing protests in the center of Yerevan organized by the “Take a Step for Tsavush” initiative and supported by activists from recent protests. On May 13, during one of these protests on Abovian Street, a participant was attacked. The incident is currently being investigated by the RA Investigative Committee.

A criminal case has been initiated by the Central and Nor Nork-Marash Administrative Districts of the RA Prosecutor’s Office, in accordance with Article 297 of the Criminal Code of the RA. The participant of the protest was injured and sustained bruises to her face as a result of the attack. Due to the circumstances of the incident, the protester has been detained and further investigations are being conducted to determine the details of the case.

It is important to note that the person causing the disturbance is to be considered innocent until proven guilty, according to the legislation of the RA judicial system.
