“Armenia appoints Personal Data Protection Officer in cooperation with Lithuania”

Gregor Nersisyan has been appointed as the Personal Data Protection Officer in Armenia by Ambassador Adrias Pulokas, the Representative of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Armenia. This appointment was made known through a report from the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia as cited by NEWS.am.

The Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Lithuania have agreed to collaborate in the area of personal data protection. To formalize this collaboration, they have signed a memorandum of cooperation.

During a meeting, Gregor Nersisyan provided an overview of the current state of personal data protection in Armenia to Ambassador Pulokas. He presented details about the structure, powers, and activities of the Personal Data Protection Authority.

Ambassador Pulokas expressed his gratitude for the meeting and recognized the similarities between the two countries in terms of personal data protection. He emphasized the importance of mutual visits and cooperation among the jurisdictional bodies involved in implementing programs.
