“Controversy Arises Over Civil Service Appointment: Is Nepotism Becoming the Norm?”

The topic under discussion is the normalcy of civil service and whether it is common for the brother of a civil servant to also enter the same profession. During a meeting with journalists on May 13th, the Primate of Tavush, Bishop Bagrat, revealed that a member of the “Civil Contract” party, Vahe Ghalyumyan, expressed his desire to pursue politics after previously interacting with the Primate over coffee and bread. In response, Archbishop Galtanjan requested that journalists question Ghalyumyan directly about his qualifications for such a role, rather than engaging in gossip. It was mentioned that Ghalyumyan had completed the technical faculty of the Ijevan branch of the Armenian State University of Economics and had worked as a deputy head in construction companies. The Primate questioned whether this experience was sufficient for the position of an assistant.
