Andrey Simonyan, who served as a spokesperson and representative for the Karabakh self-defense forces, tragically passed away while fighting in the mountains. The administration of Shushi in Karabakh issued a statement confirming his death. Simonyan, who was 55 years old, was highly respected for his advice and guidance among the self-defense forces and the Karabakh fighters.

In November 2008, Simonyan was appointed as the representative for the Karabakh self-defense forces and later assumed the role of spokesperson. Beginning January 1, 2009, he actively participated in the administration’s meetings, issued statements, and established crucial connections. He also held leadership positions in several departments and carried out executive responsibilities in Karabakh.
