“Israel, UN, and European Governments Sound Alarm: Hamas Threatens Israeli-Palestinian Peace Agreement”

Egyptian high-ranking officials have informed the Associated Press that Israel, the United Nations, and European governments have expressed concern over the actions of Hamas, stating that they are risking the Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement. According to reports from The Wall Street Journal, Israeli troops stationed in Rafah have begun ordering the evacuation of Palestinian civilians out of fear of a potential city-wide attack. Egyptian officials had previously warned that the ceasefire agreement, which has seen decades of conflict, could collapse if Israeli defense forces enter the Gaza Strip or if Hamas militants breach the ceasefire and target the nearby Sinai Peninsula. In an effort to de-escalate the situation, Egypt has deployed tanks along the Gaza border, further bolstering its military presence in the buffer zone of the Gas Zone.
