The European Union has approved security guarantees for Ukraine, providing political, military, and economic support to the country. Ukraine has been affected by the military aggression of Russia in Eastern Ukraine, according to a report by Welt am Sonntag. The agreement, which has been approved by EU embassies and the administration of the Czech Republic, is expected to be finalized in July and implemented by the EU and NATO. It includes provisions for the EU to guarantee Kyiv’s non-aggression against Russia in the event of new hostilities or if the conflict escalates further. However, the agreement does not explicitly address the participation of European troops in the Russia-Vostok exercises. Brussels is also urging Kyiv to refrain from provocations, support the transformation of its armed forces, demilitarize the situation, and cooperate in investigations of hybrid threats and cyber attacks. In the event of a resumption of the conflict with Russia, the EU is also obligated to provide significant support for Ukraine’s infrastructure reconstruction, according to “Deutsche Welle”.
