“Highway Standoff in Armenia: Public Service Employee Injured as Protestors Close Interstate”

In the ongoing penalty actions in Armenia, a group of people closed the Meghri-Yerevan interstate highway in the village of Malishka on May 10 at 11:10. According to NEWS.am, while trying to enforce public order, one of the public service employees responsible for maintaining order was injured by a bullet in the forehead. As a result, an emergency meeting was convened, in line with the 452nd article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. The participant involved in the actions, who was found to have acted with due care in the performance of their official duty, has been arrested. An investigation is currently in progress to determine the circumstances of the incident and evaluate the actions of the individual in question.
