The Russian Ministry of Defense has confirmed that on Thursday night, Russian military personnel struck ballistic missiles at Ukrainian energy objects. The strike was carried out using naval and air bases located at a great distance, the aerial hypersonic Kinzhal missile system, and unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with energy object targeting capabilities. The Ministry of Defense stated that all targeted objects were destroyed as a result of the strike.

The Russian Air Force also reported that on the night of May 8, Ukraine was targeted with various types of missiles and aerial unmanned vehicles equipped with hypersonic weapons. A total of 55 missiles and 21 cruise missiles were used in the strike, resulting in the destruction of 39 missiles and 20 drones.

The Ukrainian authorities have confirmed that energy objects in three regions were hit by unmanned aerial vehicles.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, today’s strike was carried out in response to an attempt by the Kiev regime to cause damage to Russian energy objects. It is worth noting that the Russian military personnel are currently engaged in the construction of energy facilities for the Crimea’s energy system, and there have been no reported attacks by Ukrainian drones on Russian gas field objects.
