“European Embassies Unite to Aid Ukraine’s Defense: Frozen Russian Assets to Fuel Military Support”

European countries’ embassies have agreed to allocate funds from Russian frozen assets to provide military assistance to Ukraine. This decision was announced by the Belgian government, which currently holds the EU presidency, stating that the funds will contribute to Ukraine’s recovery and defense against Russian aggression. If the program is successful, Kiev will receive approximately three million euros (3.3 million dollars). The European Union has proposed using 90% of this amount to meet the needs of Ukraine’s armed forces, with the remaining funds allocated for the country’s recovery. The actual amount of income will depend on the scale of reductions, as the Central Bank of the Russian Federation holds about 210 million dollars in frozen assets in various currencies in accounts of different countries, according to Reuters.
