Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan Discusses Regional Issues with Canadian Counterpart

On May 8, Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ara Ayvazyan, had a phone conversation with Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Melanie Joly. The discussion focused on regional issues. Ayvazyan presented the progress in the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, particularly highlighting the importance of the declaration of independence and the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration in the ongoing process of de-escalation.

The conversation also addressed the recent incidents on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, with Ayvazyan expressing concerns over the military buildup and the possibilities of further clashes.

Ayvazyan emphasized the commitment of Armenia to the peaceful resolution of conflicts and the importance of dialogue in maintaining stability in the region. The ministers agreed to continue their discussions and cooperate in the future.
