A major and tragic fire broke out in Yerevan on May 7. The national emergency service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia received a call about a fire in an apartment building located at 13 Dzherzhinsky Street at 05:50. The flames and smoke were visible from several hundred meters away.

Prior to the arrival of firefighters, residents of the building attempted to extinguish the fire themselves. Once the firefighters arrived, they took over the operation to put out the flames.

Due to the fire, several residents and firefighters required medical assistance. The affected individuals were provided with necessary medical treatment by doctors.

An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire.
