“Armenian Prime Minister Warns: Suspending Demarcation Process Could Lead to War and Occupation”

The process of demarcation, formalization of security guarantees, and approval of borders in the Republic of Armenia is proposed to be suspended. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced during a cabinet meeting on May 7th that in order to prevent demarcation, a war must be waged. Pashinyan emphasized that if the process is suspended, there will be consequences in the form of a war, which would allow internal and external forces to occupy new territories of Armenia for political purposes. He also criticized the opposition for suggesting that free and fair elections can be held in such circumstances, stating that it would indicate an occupation of Armenia by these forces. Pashinyan concluded by highlighting the need for legal regulation in resolving conflicts and military solutions.

Those advocating for the suspension of demarcation aim to initiate an illegitimate war. Their objective is only achievable if the territories of the Republic of Armenia are occupied. Otherwise, their efforts will be in vain. Pashinyan stressed the importance of establishing legal regulations in order to find a military solution and resolve conflicts, with the involvement of both the martial law and the signatures of the President and the Government of the Republic of Armenia.

It is evident that the process being discussed now has parallels to the situation on the 44th day of the war. It is equally noteworthy that on the 7th day, an opposition representative suggested suspending the war. The true motives and objectives behind this proposal need to be clarified and answered.

Overall, Pashinyan’s statement highlights the potential consequences of suspending the demarcation process in Armenia. It raises concerns about the possibility of internal and external forces seizing territories for political gain and emphasizes the need for legal regulations in resolving conflicts. The situation is reminiscent of events during the war and highlights the importance of understanding the motives behind the suspension proposal.
