“Dilijan Community Leader Urges Residents to Join ‘Tavush Belongs to the Fatherland’ Movement, Prominently Backed by President”

Dilijan authorities have announced that Davit Sarkisyan, the head of the Dilijan community and director of the Dilijan Development Foundation (DPF), wrote a letter to the President on May 5th. In the letter, he requested that the residents of Dilijan take part in the “Tavush Belongs to the Fatherland” movement, which was started by the President and is currently happening in Tavush. Journalist Voskan Sarkisyan reported this information on his Facebook page.

According to Davit Sarkisyan, “Sasun Sarkisyan, a wealthy entrepreneur who owns various businesses and a personal car valued at around $40,000, has recently joined the ‘Jigoliov’ movement in Dilijan. The movement’s members have been displaying aggressive behavior. Additionally, the brother of the community’s leader has also gotten involved in an attempt to prevent residents of the movement’s area in Dilijan from recognizing him.”

Davit Sarkisyan was appointed as the head of the Dilijan community on February 26, 2021, by the decision of Nikol Pashinyan. Prior to his current position, he volunteered at a benzene company. In his personal life, Davit Sarkisyan identifies as male and was born in 1984. He completed his education at Dilijan College and is currently studying at a European university.
