Activists in Vienna attempted to raise awareness about the ongoing conflict between Azerbaijan’s Eurovision and Official Representative Kerolayn Edschdadler. The Azerbaijani news outlet OE24 reported that the representative’s assistant informed the Austrian TV channel OE24 that the representative had successfully shed light on the issue and that her life was not in danger.

According to reports, the intervention was initiated by the Austrian Academy of Sciences, where the representative had scheduled an event to participate in an international conference dedicated to her anti-Semitism and professional mediation. The activist attempted to throw red paint on Edschdadler and other participants of the event.

Edschdadler thanked Vienna’s security services for their protection and quick response to the incident, as well as her concern for the safety of professional colleagues. “It is regrettable that international cooperation against anti-Semitism in Azerbaijan cannot be carried out without protection,” the representative said, adding that extremist actions had occurred in the past few weeks.

“The actions of extremists in Azerbaijan yesterday evening showed his distorted face. However, rest assured, we will not be intimidated,” added Edschdadler.
