“The US Strikes Back: Massive Sanctions Target Russian Military-Intelligence Agency and Global Weapons Suppliers”

The US Treasury has announced a significant set of sanctions against the Russian military-intelligence agency, as well as their chemical, biological, and nuclear programs. These sanctions also target third-country corporations and individuals that assist Russia in acquiring primary weapons and protective equipment.

Of particular concern to the US is the involvement of foreign companies, including those in China and other nations, that provide crucial resources to Russia’s military-industrial complex. A statement from the US Treasury Office highlights the intention to address this issue.

The sanctions imposed by the US Treasury and the Department of Defense are aimed at approximately 200 organizations on the US companies’ list that have aided Russia in obtaining advanced technology and equipment.

Furthermore, the Department of Defense has identified additional individuals associated with these sanctions, including the head of the intelligence service and the official responsible for counterintelligence activities. This action is in response to the death of Alexander Navalny.
