The former president of Azerbaijan, who is currently under investigation by the Center for Social Studies, released inquiries on April 18, 2024, which refer to Armenia (in the inquiries, our residential areas are referred to with Azerbaijani provisional names).

96.2% applies to Azerbaijani historical territories in “Zangezur, Iravan, and Gyoycha.” NEWS.am informs about this from the Tatoian Foundation.

It is also stated in the announcement that 58.1% believe that “Armenian Azerbaijan” should return within the next 5 years, while 19.9% believe that it should return within 5-10 years.

76.9% believe that the return of “Armenian Azerbaijan” is associated with the reopening of the Zangezur corridor.

61% have indicated that the success of the return of “Armenian Azerbaijan” is related to the return of historical memory, while 32.4% believe it is related to religious and cultural values, and 18.4% believe it is related to media advocacy.

57.9% express a strong desire to go to the “Gyoycha region” (meaning Sevan), 37.5% prefer the “Gyoycha” lake, 43.9% prefer to see the Zangezur region, 40.6% prefer religious monuments, and 29.6% prefer “Iravan” (meaning Yerevan), and 28.3% prefer “Blue Mosque.”

57.5% have noted that the historical and cultural heritage of “Armenian Azerbaijan” (meaning the territory of Armenia) is rich in architectural monuments, 24.2% believe it is associated with ancient temples, and 30.0% believe it is associated with Islamic holy places and so on.

These inquiries reveal the intentions of Azerbaijani state policy and its role in the Azerbaijani government. They legitimize the aggressive and violent nature of Azerbaijan’s official ideology towards Armenia. They are an integral part of Azerbaijani state propaganda and aggression against Armenia.

It is important to note that Azerbaijan’s illegitimate regime attempts to legitimize its political moves by using historical documents that do not have any relevance to our current reality, while contradicting our true, existing historical documents that serve our interests.
