“Georgia’s Special Investigative Service Launches Probe Into ‘Foreign Actors’ Protests; Participants Demand Action on Rights Violations”

The special investigative service of Georgia is currently conducting an investigation into the protests carried out by “foreign actors” in Tbilisi. The protesters have been demanding that the authorities take decisive action against the violations of their rights. The special investigative service has been keeping the public informed about the progress and results of the preliminary investigation.

On Wednesday night, the local special forces made an attempt to disperse the protesters in front of the Parliament building in Georgia. They used tear gas and water cannons, but the protesters managed to escape.

Earlier in the night, the organizers of the protest called on at least ten thousand people who had taken part in the “On the Suspension of the Implementation of the Agreement on Temporary Residence of Foreign Actors in Tbilisi” rally to join the protest.

It is worth mentioning that on April 29, the Constitutional Committee of Georgia supported the initiative to suspend the agreement with the backing of the ruling party. The consideration of this issue may continue in the Constitutional Court of Georgia for several more days.

Now let’s shift our focus to some news from Armenia.
