“French Prime Minister Warns of Cyber Espionage Threat: 31 Kremlin-Backed Websites Detected Spreading Disinformation Across Europe”

French Prime Minister Jean-Noel Baroin has warned that all European Union member states are vulnerable to cyber attacks aimed at espionage, as reported by Bloomberg. He revealed that 31 new websites spreading Kremlin-backed disinformation have been uncovered by French government offices across Europe.

During a meeting with his German and Polish counterparts, Baroin urged the closure of websites involved in disseminating foreign disinformation. He emphasized that these online activities undermine the democratic process.

In a joint statement issued by the three officials, Baroin stated, “The year 2024 is crucial for elections both in Europe and beyond its borders. We must not underestimate the impact of these disinformation campaigns on our democratic processes.”
