Germany’s Bundestag President, Toni Hofreiter, has shared his thoughts on the collective security of the European Union (EU) and how it affects the membership of certain countries, such as Armenia. In an article titled “Doves in Bundestag” on the microblog of X in Bundestag, Hofreiter acknowledges that the security concerns of the Eastern Partnership impact the potential EU membership of these countries. He highlights that it is not only Ukraine, the Balkan countries, Georgia, Armenia, and Moldova whose security concerns hinder their membership, but also Germany’s own security concerns pose a challenge.
