“Protester Arrested for Assaulting Police Officer During Yerevan Protest”

On April 24, 2024, the RA NA received a message from law enforcement agencies stating that a person participating in a protest at Isakov Park in Yerevan was detained for not complying with public order requirements.

According to the decision of the RA Government Staff to maintain public order during the protest, a police officer on duty at Isakov Park encountered resistance while trying to enforce measures outlined in the Criminal Code. The officer was attempting to control a group of protesters who were blocking a road and disrupting public order. Despite the officer’s request, one participant physically resisted.
