“Dissatisfaction Grows as Voskepar River Demarcation Remains Incomplete: Residents Protest, Declaring Deception by Authorities”

A few days ago, it was announced that the demarcation of the Voskepar River is not yet complete, which has led to feelings of deception among the people. During a meeting held on Sunday, residents continued to block a closed road and the Kamoorg Border in protest of employee dismissals. Hovik Vernanyan, a resident of Koti village who joined the demonstrators, called on the authorities to understand that these protests reflect the public’s dissatisfaction and their desire for truth. He emphasized that the strength of any authority comes from the people, and if promises are not fulfilled, the authority will become just an ordinary citizen.

During the meeting, Alen Simonyan questioned the presence of these protestors during the 44-day war. He pointed out that while he was fighting in the trenches and eager to go to Artsakh, these protestors were nowhere to be found on the battlefield. However, one of the participants in the action countered this statement, stating that many participants of the 44-day war, military companies, and veterans had gathered on Baghramyan Avenue that day.

The resident of Koti shared a personal story, recounting how his grandfather became an orphan due to the Turkish massacre in 1920, and his father was a victim of Turkish violence in 1994. He expressed concern that they are being told to make friends with Turkey, despite these historical experiences. Hovik Vernanyan added that it is now time to correct the mistakes made in 2018.
