Armenia: Journalists Forced to Abandon Freedom of Information Laws as Personal Dictatorship Takes Hold, Says ARF Chairman

Armenia is currently facing a situation where journalists are compelled to disregard important laws and regulations related to freedom of information and journalistic conduct, as stated by Gegham Manukyan, the chairman of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Parliamentary Faction. According to Manukyan, Nikol Pashinyan’s personal dictatorship is evident in every aspect, creating obstacles for journalists. Moreover, Manukyan emphasized that the people of Armenia have come to the realization that the true concern lies not in Karabakh or Artsakh, but rather in Tavush. He further criticized certain individuals, including Suren Papikyan, Edward Asryan, Arman Grigoryan, Ararat Mirzoyan, and Mher Grigoryan, for engaging in illegal activities and pursuing a self-liberation strategy without signing any formal agreements. It is worth mentioning that the ambassadors of the “Armenia” group were Garnik Danielyan, Gegham Manukyan, and Aspram Krpeyan. Additionally, it should be noted that during discussions between representatives and citizens, a physical altercation occurred involving ARF “Armenia” faction Secretary Garnik Danielyan, who was misrepresenting the views of officials.
