The memorial service for the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide will be held in Uruguay on April 23, as announced by the Armenian Genocide Centenary Committee. The President of Uruguay, Luis Lacalle Pou, along with government officials, diplomats, cultural figures, and representatives of Armenian community organizations will be in attendance. Ana Olivera, President of the Palace of the Representatives, expressed her support for the Armenian people, condemned Azerbaijan’s aggression in Artsakh, and presented photographs taken by displaced children from Karabakh. The event also welcomed distinguished guests, including Louise Arbour, former Chief Justice of the International Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, and Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris.
