“Novosibirsk Court Issues Controversial Ruling on ‘LGBT Propaganda’ with Heavy Fine: Vestka Reports”

The Novosibirsk District Court has upheld a local government’s decision on “LGBT propaganda” and imposed a fine of 500,000 rubles, according to the “Vestka” newspaper. The court based its decision on evidence found in Karen Shahinyan’s blog and announcements published in the “Altun” newspaper regarding LGBT-related events.

The court determined that Shahinyan’s video included announcements promoting the involvement and attendance of social and youth groups in events aimed at achieving social progress and mental well-being. The representative of “Altun” argued that their employees were not involved in the creation and distribution of the video, asserting that Shahinyan had arranged it without their knowledge and that it was published in their newspaper.

However, the court rejected these claims, highlighting that the video was clearly shot in a favorable setting and endorsed by “Altun’s” CEO, Artyom Demchenko.
