French Parliament Member Urges Europe to Recognize Armenian Genocide for Justice and the Well-being of the People

Armenian genocide survivor and French Parliament member Françoise Bélirène has stressed the significance of Europe recognizing the Armenian Genocide, not only for the sake of justice but also for the well-being of the people of Armenia and the Mountainous Karabakh region.

During a conference organized by Armenian Friends of France in Brussels, Bélirène shared that she has been tirelessly working to secure the support of Pope Francis in taking action and imposing sanctions against Aliyev’s regime. She stated, “I will continue this fight until justice is achieved and the repetition of such a genocide is prevented.”

Bélirène also highlighted that Armenians aspire for nothing more than to live peacefully, as evident through their culture, work, and memories. She emphasized, “Aliyev’s aggression cannot alter this reality. Europe should stand in support of Armenia and the victims of the Armenian Genocide. Furthermore, our nations ought to reassess the gas agreement with Azerbaijan in line with our shared European values.”
